The Spur is situated at 32 Cock Lane, EC1, one of the most historic streets in one of London’s most historic quarters. Here, medieval Londoners came to buy their fighting cocks and celebrate the feast of St. Bartholomew; here Samuel Pepys shared a barrel of oysters with Messers Townsend and Moore; here Jonathon Swift made his headquarters; here, (well at number 33) a ghost called Scratching Fanny enthralled 18th century London and Horace Walpole in particular and here, of course, the Great Fire of 1666 finally burnt itself out. Today, the echoes of history are still evident and strong and resonate alongside the restaurants, bars and shopping areas that have grown and flourished during the last few years.

The beauty of the living area is that there is nothing there – just space; the space to choose your preferred configuration for dining, relaxation and entertaining. All living areas have honed and sealed Costa Blanca limestone floors and are illuminated via switched 5 amp lighting circuits with dimmer switches and feature recess lighting. Abundant sockets add to the practicality and versatility.

All bedrooms feature built-in Tecnopolis wardrobes hand-crafted by the renowned Italian manufacturer, Presotto. White lacquered doors open onto a walnut veneer interior with automatic lighting and ample storage space.

Each apartment has been fitted with an individually designed, hand-built kitchen by Valcucine. Based in Milan, Valcucine are one of Italy’s leading kitchen designers and certainly the most innovative. Features include tempered coloured glass splashbacks, worktops in Carrara Marble rabescato, aluminium skirting, etched toughened glass doors on an aluminium frame and aluminium handles. For the practically minded, there is ample storage space and fitted Smeg appliances: fridge/freezer; combi-oven; hob with hood; dishwasher and a washer/drier. The sinks are by Franke with Rapsel Vola mixer taps and feature a Whirlpool waste disposal unit. All kitchens have honed and sealed Costa Blanca limestone floors and are illuminated via switched low voltage down lights and undercupboard lighting.
