A
small selection of good quality serviced apartments situated just north
of Oxford Street. The apartment block was built in 1916 and the superb
craftsmanship of that era is evident wherever you look, from the slabbed
stone floor and mahogany doors of the entrance hall to the charming old
staircase lit by coach lamps, from the delightful period lift housing to
the leaded lights and brass fittings of the common areas. The decorative
stone facade of the building faces onto pleasant Berners Street, home of
the famous Berners Hotel. Each two bedroom apartment occupies its own
floor and the one bedroom apartments are totally separated. All the
floors are served by a passenger lift. The original charm of this period
building has been retained, although extensive modernisation and
refurbishment has been carried out. Where possible the original oak
floors, ornate plaster ceilings, cornices and brass fittings, have all
been retained. The apartments offer large reception rooms with polished
oak floors, open plan fully equipped, designer fully fitted kitchens,
with granite work tops, pantry, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave,
laundry (washer/dryer) electric oven and gas hob. The bathrooms are
marble tiled with Amtico flooring and have a full sized bath and a
separate mains pressure walk in shower. The master bedrooms can be twin
bedded or large doubles and the 2nd bedroom is a double. All
the rooms are furnished in tasteful, elegant, traditional style. The
building has a video entry system and safety deposit boxes are available
on request.
